Prosper as an Artist

For most of my life, I had no clue what it meant to prosper and thrive in God’s Kingdom as an artist. Because I had no clue, I remained in constant frustration wondering why some people seemed to walk in blessing and favor in their life, and others seemed to be in continual struggle. Did God love them more? Was I not good enough? Believe me, the struggle was real.

Thankfully, the Holy Spirit began to show me through His voice and the teaching of incredible teachers over the years that I simply had no idea how the Kingdom worked.

Like most Christians, I operated out of these two basic paradigms: Hope, Wait & Beg and Work, Sweat & Strive. In the first strategy, I would just spend my days endlessly hoping God would see what was going on in my life and hopefully do something. I’d wait, what seemed like forever and then from time to time, run to the altar and beg for God to please do something to change my situation. Many Christians, maybe you, live life like this every day. 

After that pattern gets to be frustrating enough, then many well-meaning Christians do what I call “Work, Sweat and Strive”. They believe since God hasn’t done anything to rectify their situation or show up on their behalf, they better just start making things happen themselves. So they work, sweat and strive in their own strength to at least feel like they’re making forward progress. The problem with both these paradigms, however is that they have nothing to do with how the Kingdom actually works. 

God’s design for you as an artist is to prosper in His Kingdom, even as your soul prospers, in every area – spiritually, artistically and even in the marketplace. It all begins with relationship with Him, authentic intimacy, and out of that, God begins to release revelation about who you are, what He has for you and your unique design. Your design then begins to reveal your assignment in His Kingdom and as your pursue that assignment out of a place of intimacy and revelation with Him, provision and lasting fruit begin to manifest in your life. The result is real impact in the world, and true fulfillment that can only come from connecting with the heart of the Father. 

My friend, this is God’s design for your life as an artist. No matter where you are right now, you can start stepping into His plan for abundance by laying down the old pattern of living and taking hold of this new pattern. I promise the results will be astounding. Instead of feeling like you’re all alone, trying to make life happen, you’re going to feel the wind of His Spirit and divine momentum carrying you into a life of which you only dreamed. That’s how the Kingdom works.
