Unknown Frontiers

DAY 1 OF 7

UNKNOWN FRONTIERS

The definition of the word frontier is the limit of knowledge in a particular field. In other words, when you move beyond the known, you are stepping into unknown territory.

There will always be seasons in our lives, some more familiar and known than others.

In Ecclesiastes 3:1 it says: “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”

Change is inevitable in this life and an unknown frontier can be a scary place. It can make you feel very vulnerable. That is a good thing, because when we become too independent, we tend to feel that we don’t need God. Whereas when we are vulnerable, we run to God.

Abraham is called the friend of God. Not because he was a good man – remember, he passed off his wife as his sister before a king, in order to save his own life. He was not a good man. He was however, a man of incredible faith. Genesis 12:10-20

Abraham was a rich farmer and he left his farm in Ur of the Chaldees to go to an unknown destination because God told him to do so. When Isaac, his only son, born to Sarah his wife, was a young man, God said, “I want him back.” Abraham didn’t hesitate.

He was prepared to offer Isaac back to God because he knew that the Lord was enough for him.

Day 2

About this Plan

Unknown Frontiers

If you were asked the question “Is Jesus enough for you?”, would you be able to say that you live every day for the Lord Jesus Christ? In this 7-day reading plan evangelist and well - known author Angus Buchan asks this question, reminding us that our reason for being on earth is to honour the Lord, especially during times and seasons with unknown frontiers.
