Day 6: A Glimpse of Love - A Gift
Do you remember the moment? That excitement that welled up within, as you ran with eagerness to open the presents. Some you knew about, some you didn't.
There is great joy in opening an amazing gift, isn't there?
Do you remember the moment? The anticipation that you had in knowing the joy that would result from the gift you had brought being opened? There seems to be a greater joy in watching a great gift that you've given being opened.
The Magi, drawn by a glimpse of light, a star in the sky, knelt down before the King and presented their gifts.
Their amazing gifts, presented, were nothing in comparison to the gift that was before them—the gift of God's great love for us, wrapped up in a manger.
There is an invitation to you and I to witness the greatness of God's love for us at this time. And our response to this is to lay down gifts of worship before God.
But there is also an encouragement to you and I to be people who get to watch other people open up a great gift.
We're invited into the story, to share the story of God's great love for His world with the world around us. And as we do, we get to witness with joy, this glimpse of light transforming those around us.
REFLECTION QUESTION:
Who can you share this gift of love with during this season?
What practical things could you do to extend this love?
About this Plan
We invite you to join us in preparing room in our hearts for Christ. It’s the cry of our hearts to which God responds with His Son, “Emmanuel” - God is with us. Giving time and attention to the coming Light of the world can spark a tiny hope, ignite a thrill of joy and give us a glimpse of love in a time that otherwise may be exhausting, overwhelming and stressful.
