GOD OF MERCY
Luke 15:20
O God, You are the God of Mercy! You know the condition of man's heart: that it is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it? You, O God, see us, and You save us! I rejoice! You are rich in mercy, and because of Your great love with which You loved me, even when I was dead in my transgressions, You made me alive together with Christ! ... for by grace I have been saved through faith! To think that I have obtained favor in Your sight; and that You, my King, have extended Your scepter to me! What kind of love is this?! I want my life to be a life of gratitude because of Your great mercy and kindness. Pull me close, O God, because I am so prone to wander. Search me, and know my heart; try me and know my anxious thoughts; and see if there be any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way. Thank You for Your continual embrace. In Your arms, I will sing of Your tender mercies forever!
