THE GOOD NEWS OF THE GOSPEL—JESUS CHRIST!
Read today's scripture passages, then read and watch below.
The good news of the gospel is Jesus Christ!
God made a way, where there was no way, to rescue and restore His people and make a people for himself. He brought us into an everlasting relationship with Jesus Christ, our Lord, our Savior, our Beloved, our Great Reward!
His Word says that we are sinners, separated from a holy God, but that if we confess our sin, He forgives us and cleanses us of our sin (1 John 1:9). Christ took that sin upon himself so that through our faith in Him we might become the righteousness of God (2 Cor. 5:21). What a gift of grace!
And by God’s grace, as we turn from sin and trust in Christ alone for our salvation, Jesus not only rescues us from death and damnation, but He also becomes our life, our peace, our eternal hope—our ALL in all!
Jesus died and was raised from the dead. We too have been crucified with Christ. We no longer live, but He now lives in us (Gal. 2:20)!
Let each of us consider Jesus . . . who He is to us and who we are in Him, and not just what He has done for us (Eph. 1:3-10; 2:1-6). He has redeemed us through His blood and united us with himself, and we are now in Christ.
Let us thank God for His great love, for the good news of the gospel—our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Let us thank Him for the unsearchable riches of Jesus Christ and every spiritual blessing that we have been given in Him (Col. 1:26-27).
Let’s pray and praise the Lord.
“Dear Jesus, you are not merely the means of our rescue from death and eternal damnation; you are life and our eternal hope! We have eternity with you and in you! You are our Lord, our Savior, our Beloved. Help us when we are feeling so overwhelmed with our sin, weaknesses, failures, and limitations. Help us remember that we have died with you and that you now live in us and we in you. You are our hope, our life, our joy! Help us affirm these truths in our mind, apply them to our heart, and walk them out in our life by grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
