One of the easiest responsibilities a man can take on is the financial care of his family. Easy? Yes. Because men are often prone to become workaholics. When you’re told to provide for your family, you tackle that by focusing your time, talent, and energy to turn your work ethic into cash. David, Samuel, and Eli were godly men who struggled with giving attention to their kids because work always came before being a dad. Making money is often the easy part. Being a dad is much harder because it requires an emotional investment. It’s easier to earn a living than to be a parent. It’s easier to work than to listen to your kids’ struggles. Because God is your Father, you can learn from Him. He’s always accessible, listening, and understanding their struggles enough to offer perfect advice. Never sacrifice your family on the altar of personal achievement. It may be possible to achieve wealth and a close family, but real relationships need to come before all else. 

Dear Father in heaven, help me not to neglect taking time to bond with my children, nurture them, show them attention, correct them, and laugh with them
