Love God Greatly Truth Over LiesSample

When is the last time you took a selfie? In 2017, there were more than 24 billion selfies uploaded to Google’s servers[1]. The statistic does not account for any photos that were simply snapped and saved (or deleted). The obsession with the selfie illustrates the myth that we falsely believe we are the center of our lives. When we visit a famous destination and take that selfie, in our memories, we remain the main attraction.
Our eyes are blinded from this truth: the earth and everything in it is the Lord’s. He has graciously allowed us to be a part of His story. Our role in this life is tiny compared to eternity. While humbling, the reality is not discouraging. The Creator of the Universe chose you. He is present with you. He created you to participate in His story. What an honor! Our response should be to look at how we can love and serve others, rather than focusing on ourselves. When we do, the world will see the reflection of Christ in our lives.
What is one way you can reflect God’s love for you to someone else today? When you are tempted to turn your thoughts to yourself, remember that you are a part of His story – not the other way around.
Father God, thank You for giving me the opportunity to spend time with You. Thank You for choosing me to be a part of Your plan. You are an amazing God. I admit that I often make this world about me. I am sorry. Help me to be mindful of others, so they may see Christ in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
About this Plan
Friends, I invite you to join me on this journey, in this battle of fighting against lies and discovering the beautiful Truth found in God’s Word. Truth that will set our hearts and minds free. Free to love who we are because of Christ and free to embrace the love He has for us. Freedom is found in truth. Bondage is found in lies.
