Love God Greatly Truth Over LiesSample
Read: Romans 8:31-32; John 1:16; James 1:5; Ephesians 1:3-8
SOAP: Romans 8:31-32
Some seasons of life bear more visible fruit than others. Instead of looking at the dry season through a lens of faith, the temptation is to believe the lie that God is stingy. We think that because our desires have not been satisfied God is selfishly withholding His blessings to tease and to test.
These thoughts cannot be farther from the truth. Scripture declares the Truth of God’s grace and His goodness. His generosity extended to the point of offering the world His Son. He cares enough to provide for both our physical and spiritual needs. However, most days, we only acknowledge how He has met our needs spiritually. This half-sighted view of God leaves us feeling lacking and thankless.
Take a moment to recognize how the Lord has provided for you spiritually. Reflect for a minute on His grace and forgiveness in your life. How has He been patient with You or given you hope in a certain situation?
Father God, thank You for Your unending love and provision. Help me to remember that You are generous and overflowing in graciousness. You are slow to anger and quick to forgive. I praise You for who You are. I confess that I sometimes believe the lie that You willingly withhold from me. Forgive me for my unbelief. Thank You for the grace found in Your Son. In Jesus name, Amen.
