Love God Greatly: 1 & 2 ThessaloniansSample
Read: 2 Thessalonians 2:13-17
SOAP: 2 Thessalonians 2:13
Paul gives thanks for the salvation of the believers in Thessalonica as they responded to the Truth and the work of the Holy Spirit. He encourages them to “stand firm” on the Word of God, and he prays for them to be established in every good work and word. Paul’s desire is for God to give these believers comfort during their time of affliction and to fill them with hope through His grace.
Paul is teaching us how to intercede for each other. This week, let’s purpose to pray for one another to “stand firm” in the Truth. May He establish our hearts in every good work and word. Let’s lean into His grace and grab on to His unending hope.
Father, plant our feet firmly on Your Word today. Establish Your work and Word in our hearts. Amen

About this Plan
In the books of 1st & 2nd Thessalonians, you meet a church who are going through some storms. Severe persecution is threatening their lives, and they are clinging to the promise that Jesus is coming back. This promise is from the Promise Keeper…He IS coming back. The Thessalonians had to learn to live with this hope as they lived their lives in the now.
