57
Ps 108:1–5
For the Music Director. To the melody of “Do Not Destroy.” A Miktam of David when he fled from Saul in the cave.
1Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me!
For in You my soul takes refuge;
in the shadow of Your wings will I take refuge, # Ps 91:4
until these calamities pass by. # Isa 26:20
2I will cry out to God Most High,
to God who performs all things for me. # Ps 138:8
3He will send from heaven and save me;
He will reproach him who tramples on me. Selah
God will send forth His mercy and His truth. # Ps 40:11; 43:3
4My soul is among lions;
I lie among the sons of men who are set on fire,
whose teeth are spears and arrows,
and their tongue a sharp sword. # Ps 55:21; 58:6; Pr 30:14
5Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let Your glory be above all the earth. # Ps 57:11
6They have prepared a net for my steps; # Ps 140:5
my soul is bowed down; # Ps 145:14
they have dug a pit before me,
but they have fallen into it themselves. Selah
7My heart is steadfast, O God,
my heart is steadfast; # Ps 112:7
I will sing and give praise.
8Awake, my glory!
Awake, psaltery and harp! # Ps 16:9; 30:12
I will awaken the dawn.
9I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the peoples;
I will sing to You among the nations.
10For Your mercy is great unto the heavens,
and Your truth unto the clouds. # Ps 36:5; 103:11
11Be exalted, O God, above the heavens.
Let Your glory be above all the earth. # Ps 57:5
