1 Corinthians 13

13
1If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, # 1Co 6:3; 11:10; 2Co 12:4 and have not love, I have become as sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, # Mt 21:21 and have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, and have not love, it profits me nothing.
4Love suffers long and is kind; # Col 3:12 love envies not; love flaunts not itself and is not puffed up, 5does not behave itself improperly, seeks not its own, # 1Co 10:24; Php 2:21 is not easily provoked, thinks no evil; 6rejoices not in iniquity, # Ro 1:32 but rejoices in the truth; # 2Jn 4 7bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. # 1Co 13:4
8Love never fails. But if there are prophecies, they shall fail; if there are tongues, they shall cease; and if there is knowledge, it shall vanish. 9For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. # 1Co 8:2; 13:12 10But when that which is perfect comes, then that which is imperfect shall pass away. 11When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, and I thought as a child. But when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12For now we see as through a glass, dimly, but then, face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know, even as I also am known. # 2Co 5:7; 1Jn 3:2
13So now abide faith, hope, and love, these three. But the greatest of these is love. # 1Co 16:14; Gal 5:6
