Authentic Kingdom Culture – A New And Better Covenant!Beispiel
Kingdom Value – God Desires to Empower Us!
Old Covenant Reality
In the Old Testament God empowered leaders to exercise His authority in the earth. First, these leaders were called judges and later on they were called kings. The Bible recounts the Spirit rushing upon these men and women as they were anointed by God directly or through a prophet. The Spirit rested upon them to enable them to carry out God’s mandate in the earth. These chosen few were the only recipients of power from on high.
New Covenant Reality
However, in Luke 24:49 (ESV) Jesus gives His disciples specific instructions:
And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”
This is the first glimpse of what is fulfilled in Acts 2 on the day of Pentecost; the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the disciples! The outpouring of the Holy Spirit was the final piece of the puzzle in the plan of God for the redemption of mankind. We can be imbued with power from on high today! Whilst the OT kings exercised their authority in the natural, we exercise authority in the spirit to destroy all the works of the devil! We heal the sick, deliver the oppressed and open blinded eyes to see the glorious light of the gospel! This isn’t reserved for the special anointed ones anymore; we all are kings of the King and we have been given authority over all the power of the enemy!
Points to pray/journal:
- Do you believe that God has empowered you to heal the sick and cast out demons?
- Do you look for opportunities to exercise the authority you’ve been given as a son/daughter of God?
Declarations:
- I am a son/daughter of the King and I exercise His kingdom authority in the earth!
- I can heal the sick, free the oppressed and bring light into every situation of darkness!
