Finding Purpose, Hope and Joy Through Jesus’ BirthBeispiel
Day 25 – Christmas Day - Rejoice!
Merry Christmas from all of us at Compassion International! As you have read the Scriptures and devotion each day of December, we pray you have reflected on the real story of Advent—God becoming a human being in the Person of Jesus. We hope you have experienced purpose, hope and joy as you learned from the people God placed in His Advent story. Each one served distinct purpose that cumulated with God’s great gift 33 years later.
What is the meaning of Christmas?
The true Christmas message is a message of love. God loves you so much He paid your debt and gave you the ultimate gift—salvation. He used ordinary people just like you and me to fulfill His amazing purpose. At the perfect time, He set His plan into motion.
As you celebrate Christmas today, will you do so out of gratitude for what God did for you? We encourage you to spend time today helping someone who is less fortunate. Here are some ideas for ways to do this as a family or individual:
- Pray together as a family for those you know who have physical, spiritual or emotional needs.
- Schedule a time to help at your local food pantry, soup kitchen or homeless ministry.
- Spend time shopping for someone in poverty so they can have the basic necessities of life. You can use the Compassion Christmas Catalog .
May your Christmas day be full of joy as you celebrate Jesus’ birth and His great gift to you.
