100 Days of Prayer for Difficult Times: What to Pray During Your Hardest Days

DAG 7 AF 7

Dear Father,

I’m in a season of change, and for the most part, it’s changing because of things outside of my control. I might be transitioning into some good new things, but I’m not sure yet. It’s difficult because I don’t yet know what I’m transitioning to. I only know what I’m leaving behind. And, truth be told, I really liked what was back there. Of course, this change was not easy because I got comfortable with the “what is” and didn’t think at all about the “what’s next.”

Anyway, here I stand at the doorway of something new and confess I’m pretty scared. I ask that you give me the courage to keep facing forward, anticipating the new instead of looking back at the old. I trust that you still have a purpose for me. I just need to wait for the “what’s next” to be revealed. Well, you know how good I am at waiting (not at all). Still, you’ve promised to be with me each day of my life. You’ve given me talents, abilities, and passions and the energy to pursue them. Some of those things have changed over the years, but that just helps me know that new things will still come.

So, in this stressful time, Father, I wait. I trust. I anticipate. I submit. I celebrate your plan and your love.
