James writes about rich people and the misery that follows them. Continue on and he admonishes the believers to stand firm in patience like a farmer awaiting his harvest. Why? Because the Lord’s coming is near. Then he reminds us of examples of the faithful ancestors, namely Job - the one we have been reading about in our daily readings! The message is clear - He is full of compassion and mercy.
Prayer: Blessed be the Name of the Lord. You are Mighty and Merciful. Thank you for loving me with all my weaknesses and failures. Help me to persevere in life’s troubles and focus on Your faithfulness and love for me so that I too may be an example of Your good. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
