Made for MoreUddrag
Finally, in being made in God's image, we are made to move in God's love.
Coming through these past seven days together, we have discovered the many things we have been designed for:
We are Made for More.
We are Made in His Image.
We are Made to Overcome.
We are Made to Love.
We are Made to Wait.
We are Made to Endure.
And ultimately, we are Made to Move.
It would be easy to take in all that we learn during our times in scripture and keep it to ourselves. We could very easily focus on a Christ-follower's daily checklist, solely on ensuring good works and the security of our own salvation. Particularly for those of us who discuss and explore our faith daily, we can become so wrapped up in the knowledge of our beliefs that we forget what God's Spirit has intended for us to do: to move.
In his book, “The Knowledge of the Holy,” A.W. Tozer wrote, "We might be wise to follow the insight of the enraptured heart rather than the more cautious reasoning of the theological mind."
Within our faith, we must study scripture with accuracy and discipline and continue to educate ourselves daily in God's word. But it must not stop there. We must learn what it looks like to live out this faith—to live as Christ lived—in his power and the full potential of his Spirit, so that God's love can work in and through us. It is when our faith is put into action that God's fullness and greatness are made known to us.
Too easily, we can become so consumed in our own worlds that we forget our faith requires us to move. And not just to move, but move boldly! Moving forward in our faith is the application of the salvation we have been given.
As you learn in your daily lives to live in the image of God, in freedom as an overcomer, in the love he has poured out to you, waiting patiently on him and enduring this race as Christ endured the cross, I pray that each of you will begin to move more boldly in him each day. I pray you will start to move boldly in the grace, love, and faithfulness of the Holy Spirit.
In following Christ and pursuing a life made in God's image, may the fullness of his Spirit and a life made for more become a daily reality for you.
