Be Transparent. Have Faith in God.
In Mark 11:14 KJV, Jesus was responding to a tree that prematurely showed signs of bearing fruit, when in fact, it was barren. All throughout the Bible, Jesus had answered and corrected the barrenness of people when they were transparent. The “faking” fig tree could not be healed because it showed signs of being fruitful when in fact, it was still going through its process. The tree’s process was underdeveloped and deceptive. Don’t cover your barrenness. In this instance, in order for a fig tree to bear fruit, it had to be the right season (i.e. the season of figs) and it had to go through its process. Submit to God’s timing. Trust His season.
This fig tree stood as if it had gone through its full process at an accelerated pace. In Mark 11:13 KJV Jesus was hungry he saw this seemingly fruitful fig tree afar off and was excited to pull its fruit. When Jesus approached the tree and found nothing on it, He had an answer for it. Mark 11:14 KJV states, “No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.” God can heal your barrenness when you surrender to Him. Don’t cover what you’re not producing. Let God heal your underdeveloped areas. Don’t be deceptive like Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden — they tried to cover their shame with fig leaves. Don’t cover, don’t front — have faith in God. Let God heal your barrenness.
The next morning, the disciples passed by the fig tree and saw that the tree had dried up completely from its roots. You can only “front” for so long before drying up and getting exposed. God wants to heal your brokenness. He wants to heal your barrenness. You don’t have to cover up your insecurities with “fig leaves” all you have to do is, “Have faith in God.” If you want to produce fruit — ask God. If you want to mature — ask God. If you want to develop your underdeveloped areas — ask God. Have faith that God will respond. You don’t have to fake or front to others as an attempt to cover up your insecurities — have faith in God.
