ACCESS THROUGH JESUS

After the Civil War, a soldier was outside of the White House, crying. A boy came up to him and said, “What’s wrong, mister?” The man said, “I need to see President Lincoln, but I can’t get through. I’m just a common man. But only the president can solve my problem.”

The little boy took the man by the hand and said, “Would you come with me?” And he walked right past the gate. Right past the sentry. Right into the White House. Right into the Oval Office, where he said to President Lincoln, “Dad, this man needs to see you.”

See, when you know the Son, Jesus, He cuts through all the red tape. With Jesus, you have bold access into the very presence of God! If we get discouraged, we stay there because we don’t take advantage of the access we’ve been given. It is your God-given right to draw near to Him.

Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

HEBREWS 4:16

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Father, thank You for giving us total access to Your throne through Jesus. Teach me to pray in that power and hope.
