Making Choices Together With GodSampl
Which people influence your choices?
The time had come!
Years ago I got to hold a TedTalk for a few hundred people. On a stage in the theater, I was ready behind the meters-high canvases, 5 minutes before the start. It was exciting, something was about to happen. Would it go as I expected?
Do you recognize that? You've made a choice, or you're about to make a choice… But, it's so exciting!
The tension I felt then is nothing compared to the tension the Israelites must have felt. For 400 years they had lived in a public prison. They had to work for the Pharaoh, who made choices based on fear. Afraid that the people of Israel would become too powerful.
Ultimately, God made the choice to deliver His people and lead them into abundance. Again the promise sounded, “Send out men to explore the land of Canaan, the land I am giving to the Israelites. Send one leader from each of the twelve ancestral tribes. (Numbers 13:2)”
God spoke in His future, he confirmed the promise that His people would live in freedom. The moment was there. Did it finally happen? After a long journey, the people had arrived at the border of the promised land. God spoke through Moses and 12 men set out.
12 men who were allowed to explore the same promise from God. Which people will accompany you to explore God's promise for you?
Two questions for you:
1) Do you make choices based on the promise(s) God has given you?
2) Which people do you have around you who are looking for God's future with you?
Choose 3 people you are going to ask to actively walk along with your promise.
“Father, I thank you for the promise [mention promise God has made to you] that you have made to me. I believe your promise and speak this out to you, and to those around me. I trust that your will be done through me. Thank you for your strength. And thank you for the people who believe in the promise you have given me."
