Everyday Acknowledge The Cry of Your Heart

“If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.” - C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity

“You are my heart cry, I don’t want anyone else.

You are my whole life, I don’t need anything else.”

- Lyrics from Heart Cry by SEU Worship and Dan Rivera

Every day we awake to the reality that we have needs and desires. We need to eat meals and drink water. We need healthy nutrition and clean air to breathe. Without these basic necessities our bodies will simply fail. C.S. Lewis makes the observation that each of these desires can only be satisfied in part. One can eat to be satisfied, but it only lasts a moment. Every breath we take is necessitated by the following one. These desires and needs point our hearts to a reality that there is an ultimate author and maker of all things who wishes to grant us ultimate eternal satisfaction. That person is Jesus.

Colossians 1: 15-17 teaches us that all things have been created through Christ and for Christ. As we meet the day’s beginning and face our hunger and desires we are invited into a moment of worship. The acknowledgment that everything we want or need comes from God opens up our heart to a daily sort of worship where we begin to see God’s activity in things as simple as taking a breath. Beneath the surface of our ambitions and anxieties, our hearts long to be in communion with our creator. He is the cry of our hearts. Daily his Spirit beckons us to worship, and daily we have a choice to respond. Embracing a Monday morning faith is to recognize the goodness of God in every desire and need that we have.

Monday Morning Faith: A 3-Day Devotional by SEU Worship

A seed does not become a tree in a day; similar to how we do not grow to have rooted faith in a day. It is daily. Satan is not scared of a Sunday faith, but he trembles at the faithful Christian who walks with the Lord daily! Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday! Join us in this devotional as we prioritize our daily walk with our Father.
