THE POWER OF RESURRECTION!
As you read the chapter of Matthew 28, you learn Jesus’ resurrection took place before dawn on what is our Sunday. We know that because scripture said Mary and the other women went to the tomb ‘after the Sabbath’ early in the morning. What they found was an empty tomb!
That day and after, Jesus was seen on different occasions:
- Jesus gave Mary Magdalene a message to the disciples. John 20:17-19
- He spoke to 2 disciples on the road to Emmaus. Luke 24:13-33
- To His disciples. Acts 10:39-41
- To Thomas who doubted Him. John 20:24-29
- To more than 500 post-resurrection. 1 Corinthians 15:6
When Jesus rose from the grave, he lived and walked, ate, drank, witnessed, and taught on this earth another 40 days until He ascended into the heavens.
…. until the day he was taken up to heaven after giving his chosen apostles further instructions through the Holy Spirit. During the forty days after he suffered and died, he appeared to the apostles from time to time, and he proved to them in many ways that he was actually alive. And he talked to them about the Kingdom of God. Acts 1:2-4
“I am He that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen, and have the keys of hell and of death.” Revelation 1:18
Oh, the beautiful hope of heaven, as scripture tells us in Romans 8:11.
The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you!
CAN YOU RELATE?
