THE END?

It’s all over. Jesus – the wonderful, kind, miracle-making Jesus – has died, executed in a horrible way, though he had done nothing wrong. His friends put his dead body in a tomb, seal it with a large stone and go sadly away.

After the Jewish day of rest, Mary Magdalene comes to the tomb, but things have changed. The big stone has been rolled away from the entrance.

Poor Mary doesn’t know what is going on. Her first thought is that enemies have come and stolen Jesus’ body away. She hurries to tell Jesus’ friends, and two of them dash to the tomb to see for themselves.

Before he died, Jesus told his followers, “I will be killed, then come back to life.” But they hadn’t understood him. Even now, that doesn’t occur to them. It’s too impossible.

The tomb is empty. The body has gone. Could it be true that Jesus is alive? Find out next time!
