Letters for Life: Ephesians & PhilippiansSampl
Congratulations! You’ve completed the book of Ephesians. Now let’s jump into the book of Philippians!
The book of Philippians was written by Paul to the Christian congregation he established in Philippi in Eastern Europe while imprisoned in Rome. In his letter, Paul thanks them for the kindness they showed him and shares a surprising truth—despite his chains, he’d found a reason to rejoice. The book of Philippians conveys a powerful message about the secret of contentment. Although Paul faced severe hardships, poverty, beatings, illness, and even his current imprisonment, in every circumstance he learned to be content. Suffering can be expected in life, but because Jesus humbled Himself by becoming human and dying for our sins, we can rejoice in all circumstances. This is the message that permeates the book of Philippians.
It’s our prayer that as you explore the book of Philippians you will experience what it means to find joy in every circumstance.
