Living a Life That Honors God

DYDD 23 O 23

Jesus Is King

After writing about God’s offer of salvation through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the apostle Peter reminds his readers one more time of Jesus’ power and majesty. Even though Jesus’ kingdom has not yet been fully realized, “angels, authorities, and powers” have already been subjected to him. In Colossians 2:15, we read that Jesus “disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them.” Although Satan tempted Jesus to disobedience, He fulfilled his commission to the end without ever committing any sin. He has conquered death by rising from the grave, and has received the highest position at the right hand of God the Father.

If we are facing hard times or are going through a personal crisis, it is so important to remember that Jesus is King. At his name every knee shall bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth. His kingdom is everlasting, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. His dominion is forever, and his children will reign with him (2 Timothy 2:11-12). Nothing in heaven or on earth can ever change that!

Are you longing for the full realization of Jesus’ kingdom?
