We Are One
Jesus made us one. He made us Uncommen. The distinctions of the flesh were nailed to the Cross at Jesus’ death. Jesus broke down the walls that set apart the sinful nature of man and the legislative codes of Moses. While those laws were good as we see in Romans 7:12, "So the law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good,” the rules were used at times for hatred against the sinful nature of man. Sound familiar? Today we must look at the Uncommen price Jesus paid to satisfy the law. Believers in Christ have been bought and paid for with His blood. We are no longer under law but under grace. It does not give us a free pass to live as we please, but it does allow us to please Him.
Being created to love the Lord and our neighbors as we love ourselves can be difficult. Often we don’t even love ourselves, so how can we love our neighbor or God? When we get lost in our pride or ego, we must humble ourselves to stop limiting our potential. We don’t have to think less of ourselves. Just be humble in resting in a posture of ordinary learning. Letting go of the selfish ambition begins the walk toward humility and thinking of others first. Loving God more and giving more love away. When you find yourself giving that love away, suddenly you find yourself receiving love back.
We are one in Christ. We are made new in His image. Jesus is the cornerstone and foundation of peace and love. Jesus bridged the gap between insiders and outsiders. When we embrace the Cross, we gain peace through Him and He works through us when we welcome Jesus. We become a part of the foundation, just like the original disciples, and we become a cornerstone as well.
