Reading the Bible in Historical Sequence Part 11

DYDD 26 O 30

Paul discusses the right way to celebrate communion and supports the use of spiritual gifts in public worship – particularly the higher gifts that edify: prophecy and interpretation of tongues.

Note 1 Corinthians 11:24: Some Bible versions misquote the words of Jesus by adding the word ‘broken’. This tends to conflict with the ‘not-broken’ references in Exodus 12:46, Numbers 9:12, Psalm 34:20 and John 19:33, 36. The Greek manuscript of the gospels (e.g. Matthew 26:26) and of 1 Corinthians 11:24 translates to “Take, eat; this is my body which is for you”.
