4 Reminders of Who God Is: Psalm 46Ukázka
God Is Worthy Of Our Praise
We serve a God who is present in the moment. He is our refuge that we can run to, in good times and bad. And He desires to transform our lives into the image of Christ for His glory. Praise, thanksgiving, and gratitude should be our natural responses to these three truths as they take deep root in our souls.
Psalms 46:10-11 says, "Be still, and know that I am God! I am exalted among the nations, I am exalted in the earth." The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah" Truly, God is worthy of our praise. When we read, "I am exalted among the nations, I am exalted in the earth," the only proper response to God's invitation to His Presence is to praise Him. He is the King of Glory. He is magnificent in splendor and worthy of our praise. He is our friend, provider, Savior, and Lord.
Again and again, the Psalmist declares, "Be exalted, O Lord, in your strength! We will sing and praise your power." (Psalms 21:13 NRSV) And the Apostle Paul instructs us to "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom; and with gratitude in your hearts sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God." (Colossians 3:16 NRSV)
As you breathe in and out, repeat the words, "Jesus is the King of glory and worthy of our praise." Take a moment to praise Him for all the many blessings in your life. Really linger in this place as the Holy Spirit reveals to you the depths of the goodness of God.
