Dive into the Depths of His Word

One of the best ways you can discover who you are is to get to know the one who made you. Many people read scripture looking for all that God says about them, but we need to know is who HE is first. We were made in God’s image, so doesn’t it make sense to dive into the depths of His character and truth? Getting to know God’s character is quite the ride. Throughout scripture we see God’s character laid out in different stories and through the different names He is given in the Bible. Each one reveals a unique aspect of His character along with a very specific promise for our lives. The Bible says He is Jehovah Jireh, which means “Your Provider.” He’s Jehovah Rapha, “Your Healer,” and Jehovah Shalom, “Your Peace.” There are many other names God is called throughout the Bible, and it’s comforting to know that the “True You” is rooted in the God of all creation. Along with reading your Bible to find out all the things God says about you, try memorizing it. Choose a verse or passage to work on. Write it down, and post it in a place where you’ll see it often.
