Walk It Out - Creating White Spaceنموونە
The Paths God has Prepared for Us
Once I created white space and had a framework to guide family decisions, my mind became less cluttered, my days less frantic, and my heart more open to God’s will.
His gentle leading started in small ways. One day when I was praying for Him to show me someone I could reach out to, He brought my husband’s coworker to mind. John had been suggesting for months that we invite this family over for dinner. Now I followed this gentle nudge I knew was from the Holy Spirit.
Skyler and Tara came to dinner, and before long we jumped into a deep, spiritual conversation. They were looking for a church home after years of letting that priority slip from their lives, so John and I invited them to our church. The next week they not only started attending our church, they joined a Bible study with us. My heart filled with joy. God confirmed how He could work if I opened my heart and schedule to Him.
What about you? Does peace even in the midst of a full life sound like something you are searching for, but it seems unattainable? Do you question if it’s even possible to allow for God to determine your steps in today’s busy world? If so, you’re on the journey I, and many of my friends, have been on.
“There are good things I’m doing, but I often wonder if they are the best things,” my friend Jen confessed. I feel that way sometimes; maybe you do too. But as we seek to live out God’s purposes, we learn to trust Him to lead us to those “best things.”
My friend Ann attests to this. She told me, “I believe God will always work His purposes for me, because I am not ‘big’ enough to mess up His plans. He keeps me in His plan by nudging me when I start to veer. He uses the ‘too busy’ feeling to help me focus on what’s important to keep our relationship maintained—to keep me open to when He’s redirecting me.”
Like Ann, I’m thankful God redirects me with inner nudges when I’m busy doing things that don’t fit with His purposes for me or for our family. When I create white space on the calendar, and focus on my established priorities, God shows up. And that’s when I discover His invitations for me to join Him in His work.

About this Plan
Women often pack their lives with family, friends, and faithful service, yet still end up feeling empty and unfulfilled. In Walk It Out , Tricia Goyer demonstrates to women that walking out the mandates of Scripture allows God to spark passion and mission within them.
