Gifts From God: Devotions From Time of Graceنموونە
The Gift of God Himself
When you are taking your personal inventory of treasures, where better to start than with the stunning good news that God himself, Lord of the universe, actually knows your name and takes a personal interest in you?
The Father’s heart
What kind of a dad do you have? One that makes you ashamed or one that makes you proud? Some people have to bear the lifelong burden of having an absent father. But everybody knows what good dads do for kids they love: they provide security, food, and guidance in how to navigate our complex and dangerous world. They show their kids how to be strong, steady, and responsible.
What a priceless gift it is to realize that the God of all has chosen to adopt you as his child, to obligate himself to rescue you, love you, and protect you. Galatians 3:26 says, “You are all [children] of God through faith in Christ Jesus.” What this means is that resources of the Creator are available for your needs, that the King is your daddy, that he is not merely watching you but is working toward your success. It means that when you pray, you don’t have to scrape, beg, or tremble. You can speak up with whatever is on your mind, knowing that you are talking to your Father, who loves you very, very much.
