Kindness Changes Everything

DAY 6 OF 7

Be kind to the poor.

“They don’t need you to pity them, as if you’re in some way superior. Rather, you need to communicate from a place of friendship, humility, and sincerity.” - Your Next 24 Hours

The Bible clearly instructs us to help the least of these, but it’s easy to become overwhelmed when we consider the insurmountable need. Though you might not have a lot of extra money or time to give, you can do something.

When we picture the poor, we often think of people in developing countries and forget about our working poor neighbors. People who need a hand up are not always as far away as we think.

What are you doing to help those who cannot help themselves? Maybe it’s time to sacrifice a bit of comfort so you can support a hungry child. Or, maybe you should volunteer a few hours at a local homeless shelter. No matter how you decide to follow Jesus’ example, do it wholeheartedly.

Remember: “Kindness is not about taking a vow of poverty; it’s about making a commitment to generosity.” - Your Next 24 Hours
