Honor God With Your Sexuality: I do; I will One of the reasons we watch movies and consume sports is that we are all hungry for heroes. We all crave role models to help us know how to act in life. The public is also hungry for details of celebrities’ lives because they set the tone for our value systems. The most important human value that we all need, and need to show, is love. But you will not find much real love on the screen. Real love is not a mindless glandular response. Real love is a decision of one person to sacrifice of himself or herself to make someone else’s life better. It’s at the cross of Christ where you will find the purest example of the true love that we all need and crave. Christ is the hero and example that we must follow. “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy” (Ephesians 5:25,26). Note that Jesus didn’t just say, “I do love you.” He also promised, “I will love you.” True Christ-love is a decision and a promise. That is what a godly man will promise his wife, and vice versa.
