DAY 11 OF 21

You Ain't Got the Answers

More than anything, we need God to open our eyes: the eyes of faith. Not to see messages in our alphabet soup or angels in the outfield, but to see Him as more precious than life itself. Because He is! And this is not only in the moment we believed, but we need this everyday, and particularly when we are dealing with God's word and God's world. We want our spiritual eyes sharpened to behold the wonderful things He has said and created, but also eyes that see Him as trustworthy when we cannot understand. We have all run across difficult passages in scripture, arguments from skeptics, and demands for explanations to the world's catastrophes, and found ourselves without answers. This is a cause for concern, but not a cause for panic.

Though we may be without answers, we are never without hope, for two of many reasons. For starters, just because we can't identify or "see" an answer immediately doesn't mean there isn't one there. We don't have to assume that the problem is with God (what He has spoken or not spoken, done or not done). But instead, the problem might be with our interpretation.

God is fully aware of our difficulties, and ordains them for us to dig deeper and trust that He never contradicts Himself. He has good purposes for everything He allows. Secondly, our faith is not the result of great answers, but of a supernatural work of God. Belief can be explained and we should always seek understanding, but what keeps us believing is not merely logical—it’s spiritual. "The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. (Rom 8:16). Be confident in that today!

God has given you spiritual life; no amount of answers can give that to you and neither the lack thereof take it away. Rest in the truth that God has some things figured out that we don't. His thoughts are higher than ours.

Prayer: Thank you Lord for the spiritual life you've given me! You have convinced me of your truth, and I pray you use my life to convince others. May simple trust guide my misunderstandings.

About this Plan

KB - 100

Respected as an artist and as a lyricist, every word out of the mouth of rapper KB is God inspired. With his 2014 EP '100', the Reach Records emcee breaks down the idea behind always giving God 100% in everything. He says, "To do everything unto Him is to work like our lives are not ours but His. It's when we give "100" God is honored and this world impacted. That's what my new EP is all about."
