Soul Survivor: 'The Flood' Part 2

DAY 2 OF 3

Greater Than

Life is constantly changing and it can feel like we sometimes go through stormy seasons where things are hard. The amazing thing is that God is always the same; he is the one constant in a world of change. No matter what we’re facing and how hard life might be, he is always with us, and he is always good. That’s truth that we need to cling on to through life’s ups and downs.

When we don’t see life working out in the ways that we want, sometimes we’re tempted to tell God what he should be doing and how he should be doing it. Then we read passages like Isaiah 40 and our perspective shifts. God created the whole universe from measuring out the waters of the sea to marking off the boundaries of the heavens. He is so big that multiple nations are like a drop of water in a bucket to him, and that means he doesn’t need us to tell him how to fix the world’s problems! Verses 13 and 14 even remind us that God doesn’t need to consult with anyone – he certainly doesn’t need our wisdom because he has all wisdom himself.

So when we’re facing tough times, rather than trying to tell God how to do his job, let’s open our eyes again to God’s majesty and might. Let’s focus on his goodness and his nearness. When we spend time looking at our problems, they often seem to grow bigger and bigger. When we worship and focus our gaze on the one who is greater than all, we get a different perspective on our problems. So let’s lift our eyes to him and worship him as he deserves. When we feel like everything around us is changing, let’s remember that our God never changes. He is always the same and we can count on him. As we wait on him, he gives us the strength to keep going even when life gets tough and we get tired. He renews our strength and reminds us he is stronger and more powerful than any of the problems we’re facing.

About this Plan

Soul Survivor: 'The Flood' Part 2

Soul Survivor recently released a live worship album from their summer events where around 30,000 young people gathered to worship Jesus. This second series of devotions takes three tracks from the album ‘The Flood’ and looks at the Bible passages from the Old and New Testaments that inspired them, exploring the greatness of our God and celebrating his majesty and might.
