TWISTED OBEDIENCE
When we obey God’s word, it is also very important to have the right attitude to go along with the act of obedience. How often we obey God’s word whole heartedly?
We can see an interesting example from the bible in Numbers 20. The Israelites were in the wilderness of Zin, having left the land of Egypt and were camped in Kadesh. The people were grumbling about not having water. God had told Moses to “SPEAK” to the rock to give water. Instead of speaking to the rock, Moses “STRUCK” the rock twice. Though it was purely a human anger, there was a big consequence for this deviation to literally follow God’s word. Moses was told that he would not be allowed to take the people into the Promised Land.
As we stand on the precious promises given by God, do we obey His commands exactly or twist them according to our temperament thereby missing His promises.
