Bring Them Back: Devotions From Time of Grace Ministryنموونە
THE PERIL: HOPE
Have you ever tried to get someone else to change a destructive behavior? It seems impossible, doesn't it? People are resistant to change, and they tend to push back when they feel pushed by someone else. It seems impossible to get someone else to quit smoking, quit living together in adultery, or quit wasting money on lottery tickets and the slots. In the same way, it may seem impossible to reignite someone's cold, dead faith.
But it can happen. Your God wants you to know that it is possible to bring someone back from spiritual suicide. You can influence positive change in another person. Your words and actions can make a difference.
"My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins" (James 5:19,20).
The most thrilling words you will hear in heaven are Christ's, when he says, "Welcome home." The second most thrilling phrase will be heard by those who turned a sinner from the error of his way, when he or she says, "Thank you for saving my life."
