Scoring goals
In soccer, the goal represents the final goal of the game—the point each team tries to defend or reach in order to win. Likewise, in the church, the kingdom of God is our final goal, and each of us, according to our roles, works toward it.
The goalkeeper is the keeper of the goal, responsible for stopping every shot from the opponent. In the church, spiritual leaders are charged with protecting the congregation from the enemy’s attacks, leading them with wisdom and vigilance, just as a goalkeeper prepares to block every threat.
Defenders are those who stand between the goalkeeper and the attackers, ready to stop any incoming ball. In the church, these defenders are the intercessors, who protect the faith and support the body of Christ. Their job is to stop every thought or influence that could distract people from the truth of God, fighting hard for the faith.
The attackers, on the other hand, try to reach the opponent's goal to score. In the church, this role is similar to that of an evangelist, bringing the message of salvation to others, trying to "score" the greatest goal: leading others to Christ, expanding the kingdom of God.
Every role in a soccer team is essential to its success, just as every member of the church is essential to the advancement of the kingdom of God.
