TheLionWithin.Us: Navigating AI Through a Biblical Lensنموونە

Redeeming Technology for God’s Glory
As I sit here looking around the studio, I see all sorts of items within my reach.
There are pencils, water bottles, knives, books, and the setup used to record our podcast. When used for their intended purposes, each of those devices provides me with the opportunity to honor and glorify God. But at the same time, each of those devices are potential paths of destruction, if that path is engaged. It is interesting to me how so many items in my life have the potential for good and evil.
I could use the pencils to write demeaning notes to my family, the water bottle could be full of soda and energy drinks that provide no nutritional value, and the podcast equipment could aid in rants and self-promoting rhetoric that completely omits God. At the same time, the pencils could bless family members with notes of encouragement, the water bottle with proper hydration, and the podcast focused on honoring and glorifying God. What changed? Not the material items themselves but rather the heart behind how I chose to engage.
As we come to the conclusion of our consideration of how to engage with AI from a Christian worldview, so much comes down to the heart behind the intent. The reality is that much like the common items in the studio, AI has the ability to help us build, understand, and develop incredible advancements that draw us into a deeper relationship with our Heavenly Father. At the same time, if we so choose, it can open up a flood of destruction that pulls us away from what God desires for our journey.
Ultimately, the tools we engage with—whether simple items like a pencil or advanced technology like AI—are neutral in their existence. The determining factor is always the posture of our hearts and how we choose to use them. When we approach AI with humility, wisdom, and a desire to glorify God, it can become a powerful tool for His kingdom. Conversely, when we allow pride, selfishness, or carelessness to dictate our engagement, we risk misusing it and walking down paths that lead us away from Him.
The choice lies with us. Will we use the gifts of technology to honor our Creator, or will we let them distract and distort our purpose? Let us resolve to redeem technology for God’s glory, allowing it to serve as a means to deepen our faith, love others well, and advance His kingdom. It starts not with the tools in our hands but with the intention of our hearts. Choose wisely. Choose to glorify Him.
