Five Times God Says 'Do One Thing' in the Bibleنموونە
Christ dwells in our hearts through faith
Salaam!
How are you today? We’re on day 3 of looking at the ‘one things’ in the Bible.
Badminton is my favourite game in the world! I can play it for hours and hours. Sometimes, I jokingly tell my wife, “I wish I could only play badminton all day, every day!”
*|FNAME|*, do you have something you’re so passionate about that you could just do it all day long?
For David, his greatest desire was to spend time in the House of the Lord:
“One thing I ask from the Lord,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and to seek Him in His temple”. – Psalm 27:4
In Deuteronomy 12, God instructed His people on how to worship Him. He said:
“You are to seek the place the Lord your God will choose to dwell. Go there to bring your burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
In the Old Testament, worship required going to God's physical dwelling place, which, in David’s time, was the Tabernacle. David could not imagine a better place to be.
Today, you and I have a great privilege – we don’t need to go to a physical place to make sacrifices anymore because Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for us on the cross, and that is enough.
However, it is still essential that we seek God in the place He chooses to dwell. So where does He dwell these days?? In you!!
We are God’s temple; the Holy Spirit dwells in us (1 Corinthians 3:16), and Christ dwells in our hearts through faith (Ephesians 3:17).
"Heavenly Father, thank You for choosing our hearts as Your dwelling place today! May our hearts be filled with Your presence now. In Jesus' Name, amen."
Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
