From Stuck to Unstoppable a 3 - Day Devotional by Wanda Whiteنموونە
Meditation
It's been said that what you do when you first wake up sets the tone for your day. Do you jump out of bed, hit the floor running, go-go-go, and never pause? Or do you take the time to seek God for his plan for you for the day? If you're a go-go-go person, there is a possibility that you're stuck. Being stuck can manifest itself in many ways, and one way is that the busier we are, the more we are doing. That is not always the case. A lot of times, we're busy doing things that don't fulfill us or lead us to our purpose, and those very things we are busy doing are the very things digging us deeper into the pit and creating the feeling of being stuck. Picture a wheel being stuck in the mud. The wheel is turning, and mud is splashing everywhere, but you're not moving, and the more gas you give it, the deeper you get stuck.
If this is you and you're ready to stop spinning in the mud, let me invite you to slow down a bit and allow God some space and time in your busy life by meditating.
Meditation is setting time aside to get in God's presence. It is a quiet time. It is a deliberate time. It is a time when you get to be vulnerable with God and God alone. It's the time when you get to hear what he says about you and what he has planned for you. It's a time to release the cares and worries of this world.
Do you want to know how to succeed in life? Get quiet. Are you ready to get unstuck? Meditate on God's word. Get God's word in your heart and focus on that. Meditating means reading, studying, and letting God be the center of our day. It means reminding yourself throughout the day of what His word says.
When we are careful to meditate and ponder God's words, we gain. We gain because God is a God of his promises. We gain because our focus is off our problems and on an all-powerful, all-knowing God. We can relax knowing that he has everything in control. Meditating is rehearsing God's word, thinking on it, and getting clarity and understanding from it. We get firmly planted like a tree on God's word when we meditate. That means we know who we believe in, and we won't be swayed by the enemy. We know where our source comes from.
Meditating also helps center our thoughts. I don't know about you, but there are so many things happening around me, and I want to be a part of them all. I want to attend them all and be present for them all, but I just can't. Meditating helps to reduce the stress from trying to do everything and be everywhere so that you can focus on what God has called for you to do. During meditation, God is able to give us instructions. When we obey his instructions according to Joshua 1:8 "then you will prosper and succeed in whatever you do."
The first step to becoming unstoppable is meditating. Commit to spending time with God daily. You'll go so much further faster.
Reflection Question – What is keeping you from spending alone time with God? How is it hindering your relationship with him?
