God Sees You: Lessons From Leah a 5 - Day Plan by Kerry-Ann Lewisنموونە

God Sees You
I have heard it said that you can be in a crowd of people and still feel lonely. I believe this is true. You can be in a crowd, yet feelings of depression, fear, and anxiety seem to isolate you from everyone around you. Even though they are so close you can touch them, those negative feelings are powerful enough to separate you from those who are near you. Yet, the one person who sees, cares, and understands what you are going through is God.
Leah’s story in Genesis 29 teaches us that God sees us even when no one else sees us or cares. In this story, a young man, Jacob, goes to another country looking for a wife among his mother’s relatives. He meets and falls in love with Rachel, his beautiful cousin. He agrees to work for her father, Laban, for seven years to be able to marry her. At the end of that time, when he asks for his bride, Laban tricks him and gives him instead his older daughter, Leah. His excuse is that in their culture, the older daughter must marry first. Jacob, however, is persistent and is willing to work seven more years for Rachel. Laban agrees and gives him Rachel, also. Leah must have battled feelings of rejection and discouragement, yet no one seemed to notice or even care.
Sometimes, in life, we may experience situations and feel completely alone. Yes, people are all around us, yet our feelings of isolation seem closer than those of the people themselves.
We may battle with who we can talk to or who we can trust.
I love God’s response to Leah’s invisibility. Verse 31 of that chapter says, “And when the Lord saw that Leah was hated...” God saw Leah when no one else did. He cared when no one else cared. God sees you! God sees you when no one else does. He sees your hurt, He sees your need, and He cares. And, when God sees you, it means He is going to act on your behalf. So, be encouraged. God sees, and He will bring you through!
Prayer
Thank You, Lord, that You see us and care. We are not invisible to You. Thank You for stepping in and acting on our behalf, helping us when we don’t know who to turn to or trust. Thank You for Your love and for what You are going to do. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

There are times when we may feel invisible, overlooked, rejected. Yet even though we are invisible to others, we are very much seen and loved by our heavenly Father. This five-day devotional by Kerry-Ann Lewis is a reminder that God is not limited by your invisibility in the eyes of others. He sees, knows, and cares and has a beautiful plan and purpose mapped out just for you.
