Confidence in the Gospel // Gospel X - Multiplying the Messageنموونە
The parable of the lost sheep is a story about the gospel, the Good News for you.
A shepherd had 100 sheep but one was lost. So he leaves the 99 behind to look for the one sheep. He looked for it until he found it. Then he brings it back, even carrying it on his shoulders. He is not angry at it, but he is happy. Back home he celebrates with his friends that he found his lost sheep. The lost sheep is the person that has not yet accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. God goes and looks for everyone that does not yet belong to him. He does not stop searching. Once, someone is found, someone returns, and God rejoices. He celebrates with his friends that a lost person is found. He is not angry with the lost person to have left him; he does not scold that person. No. He is glad and celebrates.
Can you imagine how your parents would have reacted? Being a son or a daughter yourself, if you had cut all strings to your family at some point and stopped any relationship and contact, how would your parents have reacted if you showed up 20 years later? Would they have received you back without further questions? Or would they have denied you because of all the trouble, pain, and despair you brought them? Would you just have been welcomed back or would you have to prove yourself?
Whatever you answered to the questions above, we know how God reacts. He welcomes everyone back without hesitation. There is no reservation, no scolding, no proving oneself. God opens his arms, if you are hurt, he carries you. There is no end to His love for you. Isn’t his truth amazing? Isn’t this truth worth sharing? Who would you like to share this Good News with?

About this Plan
Jesus left the church the vision of a movement when he challenged us to reproduce from our own Jerusalem into “Judea, Samaria and the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8). For us to see a movement, we need every Christ follower to adopt Jesus' personal mission to “seek and save the lost.” (Luke 19:10). Evangelism is core to the mission of Jesus and essential to accomplishing his vision. In this reading plan we will explore why is worth to be shared.
