Day 5: Living By the Power of the Holy Spirit
Following Jesus isn’t something we do in our own strength. The life he calls us to—a life of love, boldness, and faith—requires more than human effort. It requires divine power. That’s why God gives us the Holy Spirit, who not only equips us—but transforms us from the inside out.
The same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead lives in us! Think about that—the power that conquered death is at work in you today! The Holy Spirit isn’t just an abstract concept or a distant helper—he is God with us, empowering us to live boldly for Christ.
Being filled with the Holy Spirit isn’t a one-time thing, it’s an everyday need. Each day, we have the opportunity to ask him to fill us afresh. Walking with the Holy Spirit is about staying connected—seeking his presence in every decision, moment, and season. Through this daily surrender, we are renewed and strengthened to live for Christ.
Living by the Spirit means surrendering our own ways and allowing him to lead and guide our lives. His power helps us love people who are hard to love, endure challenges with patience, walk through life with peace, and stand boldly as witnesses for Jesus. It’s his presence that brings freedom from fear, sin, and anything that holds us back. And it’s through his power that we see the kingdom of God come alive in us and through us.
Questions to reflect on:
- What are the areas in your life where you’ve relied more on yourself instead of relying on the power of the Holy Spirit?
- How can living by the Spirit change the way you reflect Christ to others?
- Did you experience the Holy Spirit’s power and guidance this week? How can you experience that more in the coming weeks?
