God, Are You Listening?نموونە
God listens.
“I cried to him with my mouth, and high praise was on my tongue. If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. But truly God has listened; he has attended to the voice of my prayer.” – Psalm 66:17-19
Scripture overwhelmingly reveals that God listens to our prayers. Throughout Psalms, David poetically describes his thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Some of the chapters are sad and melancholy, some happy and joyous, and others reveal times of worship. But through everything David encountered, he revealed several testimonies proving God had been listening to his prayers.
“He rescued me from my strong enemy and from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me. They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but the Lord was my support. He brought me out into a broad place; he rescued me, because he delighted in me.” – Psalm 18:17-19
God does not have to acknowledge that He listens for us to know He hears us. We know the story about David praying for deliverance from his enemies and asking God to incline His ears to him (see Psalm 31:2). When we see the evidence of our prayers, such as David being delivered from his many adversaries, there is no question as to whether He listens.
Whatever we’re facing in life, God sees and knows all things. In this life we all will face many challenges; this is not a promise but a guarantee. In fact, John 16:33 confirms it. When life is storming, let us remember that Jesus has overcome the world and there is nothing too hard for Him to take on, on our behalf.
Time to Reflect:
Reflect on a time when you know that God heard your prayers. What evidence do you have? What did you learn from this experience? If you care to dive deeper, journal about other times when God heard your prayers. Keeping a record such as this will help to build your faith during times of uncertainty.
Let’s Pray:
Heavenly Father, it gives me great comfort to know that you hear my prayers when I call on you. I know that any unrepentant sin will separate you from me, so I am asking for forgiveness for any known and unknown sins that I have committed. I am committed to standing on Your Word. I am devoted to honoring Your Will for my life. Thank you for delivering me from anything that is not like You (see Matthew 6:13). Honoring and serving You is a lifestyle I never want to change. In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.
About this Plan
In a world that’s raging around us, God is our peace in the mayhem we encounter. He examines our hearts, is aware of our circumstances, and determines the path we should take to navigate the storms of life we all experience. In God, Are You Listening, Bree draws from scriptures to demonstrate that while God has excellent listening skills, she challenges us to be honest with ourselves and answer the question – are we listening as He speaks?
