John 3:16 sums up the central message of John’s gospel. Jesus, the Son of God, is a walking, talking demonstration of God’s love that brings the light and life of salvation to the world. Christ, the One who was with the Father at the beginning and who is God, came to this earth as a gift to us. He offers eternal light, life, and love to all who look to him.

Has your belief in Christ transformed your life? Think about the last time you meditated on the freedom that Christ has given you. If you have withheld any part of your heart from him, today is the perfect day to surrender to his overwhelming love. He is better than you can imagine! He does not liberate you only to bind you with unrealistic expectations. His love is light—it expands and is constantly expanding. His love is energizing—it infuses everything it touches with his grace and strength. There is always more to receive from his never-ending love, so don’t hesitate today.

Christ Jesus, you are the light of the world, and I come alive in your radiant presence. Love me to life in unprecedented ways as I welcome you into my life, body and soul, community and relationships.
