God's Redemption Story (The Church: Part 2)نموونە

1 & 2 Thessalonians – Day 3
Paul closes his first letter to the church at Thessalonica with a quick little list for Christian living. Tucked into verse 18 is an instruction with explanation. “In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Jesus Christ.” For me, this raises questions.
Does everything mean the good stuff or the bad stuff? Yes. We should thank God for every blessing and every time he carries us through a difficult situation.
Is it God’s will that I go through hard stuff or His will that I’m thankful? Again, yes to both. Hard stuff could be His work in our life, the effects of our broken world, or the consequences of our own foolishness, but God uses it all for our good. And we should be thankful for the way He makes us more like Him.
What are you thanking God for today?
