The Bible OverBrew - Bible in a Yearنموونە
Week 6. Day 4. Numbers 13-15.
These chapters recount spies going into the promised land (from the wilderness where the people are currently camped) to check it out.
Ch 13 How is the land described?
Ch 14 What do the people do? Why?
14:13-19 Moses intercedes for the people. Bonus: Does this remind you of any previous scripture?
How would you sum up the disobedience here?
Read also 1 Cor 10:1-12; Heb 3:7-4:13. How do these passages look back on this part of Numbers?
14:26-34 This is where God promises that the people will wander in the wilderness for 40 years, and the whole adult generation will die out (apart from Joshua and Caleb), as a punishment for their disobedience.
Note God’s grace in chapter 15: ‘When you enter the land…’ (v2) Despite the people’s sin, God is still determined to bring his people into his blessing.
NOTE: Days 1-5 of each week contain the scripture reading for that week. Day 6 has just the 'key chapters'. If you want a briefer version of this plan that still takes you through the whole Bible, you could just read the key chapters featured on day 6. Day 7 has the podcast video where we discuss the week's reading.

About this Plan
The Bible OverBrew is a friendly virtual book group, helping you read the Bible in big chunks, preferably with a mug of tea! Maybe you've tried to read through the Bible before, but gave up when it felt confusing or too intense? We are here to help you! We provide notes and questions to guide your reading, and note ‘key chapters’ if you don’t have time to read it all. In our podcast at the end of each week we draw out the key themes, and how it all points to Christ. We’d love you to join us!
