Boldness
KNOW WHO HE IS
This verse reminds us that the Holy Spirit is not just a feeling or an abstract force, but a person—a companion we can know deeply. When we shift from depending on fleeting emotions to relying on the unchanging presence of the Holy Spirit, everything changes.
Here’s what we know about Him: The Holy Spirit is alive, with us, and empowering us. He gives us words when we are empty, strengthens our faith when we’re at the end of our hope, and transforms ordinary lives into extraordinary ones when we live surrendered to Him.
When I was in high school, I started a Bible study that led to 200 students giving their lives to Jesus. This didn’t happen because I felt confident or “had it all together.” It happened because I realized the Holy Spirit was backing me. With Him, I wasn’t limited by my own strength—I was unstoppable because of the unstoppable God within me. Wherever you go, the Holy Spirit goes, and His power is at work in and through you.
KNOW WHAT HE CAN DO
The Holy Spirit empowers us with boldness to face whatever lies ahead. Boldness doesn’t come from pretending to be unafraid—it comes from realizing that Jesus, through the Holy Spirit, is your ever-present help.
I remember my first day of middle school. I was terrified—doubting myself, wondering if I’d make friends, and even hearing jokes from my brother about fitting in a locker! Though I knew Jesus, I hadn’t fully grasped what He was willing to do for me. Over time, I realized the Holy Spirit doesn’t just promise future help—He is with us now.
This week, when fear or doubt creeps in, remember this: the Holy Spirit is with you. Lean on Him, speak His promises aloud, and trust His power to work in your life.
Reflection Questions:
- Are you relying on the Holy Spirit's power or letting circumstances dictate your confidence?
- How often do you turn to the Holy Spirit as your present helper in times of fear or doubt?
- What bold steps can you take today, knowing the Holy Spirit is with you and working through you?
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, thank You for being my ever-present companion and guide. Help me to lean on You and not on my own strength, especially in moments of fear or uncertainty. Remind me of the power You’ve given me to live boldly and confidently in You. Fill me with faith to trust in Your promises and courage to act on them. Thank You for transforming my ordinary life into something extraordinary by Your power. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
