The Mended Rib: A 27-Day Devotional for Men Battling Lust and Infidelityنموونە
Choose Faithfulness
Faithfulness is not a one-time event—it’s a daily choice. Every day, you must make the decision to commit to your spouse, honor your vows, and walk in God’s call to purity. Temptation will inevitably come, but God promises to always provide a way out. You are never helpless or bound to fall into sin. Faithfulness means actively seeking the escape routes God provides and choosing them. It may be as simple as turning off the TV, putting down your phone, or walking away from situations where temptation lurks.
Faithfulness isn’t built in a day—it’s established through small, consistent choices. Each decision to do what’s right, even in the little things, builds trust and integrity over time.
When I confessed my sins to my wife, I knew that being faithful to her wasn’t just about avoiding further infidelity—it was about being faithful to the entire process of healing. I owed it to my wife, to myself, and most importantly to God, to live out that commitment daily. I didn’t just make a vague promise to do better; I dedicated myself to the long road of healing, repentance, and continually walking in God’s forgiveness. Faithfulness became more than a decision; it was a lifestyle of choosing integrity and truth each day.
It’s not about perfection, but persistence. Faithfulness is about choosing to do what’s right, even when it’s hard, and trusting that God will give you the strength to continue on the path to healing and growth.
Challenge
Today, commit to making a deliberate choice of faithfulness in your thoughts, words, and actions. Whether it's turning away from an image or avoiding a flirtatious conversation, take the faithful path.
Prayer
God, I thank You for always providing a way out when I am tempted. Help me to be alert and to choose faithfulness in every moment, guarding my heart and mind. Amen.
