Preparing for Christmasنموونە

As we continue toward the Bethlehem moment, we might not realize that we are journeying towards "the house of bread." In Hebrew, the city's name is pronounced “Beit-lehem.” “Beit” meaning house and “Lechem” meaning bread. How fitting it is that Jesus, who came to sustain our souls, would enter our world in a place so meaningfully named. In Bethlehem, God gave us the Bread of Life—sent to nourish and fill our deepest hunger. This season we’re invited to reflect on Jesus as the source of true fulfillment, offering sustenance that goes beyond physical needs, filling the heart and spirit. May we find ourselves seeking and receiving from the One who truly satisfies.

This 25-day Advent devotional was created from CornerstoneSF's video devotional series, Rise & Shine. With videos every day except Sundays, this devotional invites us to open our hearts and prepare for the coming of Jesus. It will begin broadly and then focus deeply on Mary’s experience, highlighting how her humility, faith, and openness paved the way for Christ’s birth. Through her example, we are encouraged to cultivate a heart ready to receive the Savior, embracing His love and presence in our lives.
